| Having a doula during our labor and delivery made the whole process easier. Since it was our first child and first for everything, my husband and I didn't know what to expect or what will happen. Our doula, Meliea, made everything easier. She explained the process and the different stages of the labor. She made the whole labor process that much easier. I don't know what Jim and I would have done without her. The laboring process definitely would have been that much harder and unpredictable without her. I highly recommend a doula for any labor process. I couldn't have imagined it without her. She helped us remember our relaxation techniques, she was our advocate, she was a terrific coach and therefore I could go on for days about our doula, Meliea, and how great she was in our labor, but all I have to say is if this is your first, second or third child, a doula is always great to have during a laboring process....Anh, Jim and Peyton-Anna |

| I'm 32 years old and just completed my first pregnacy and delivery. My husband and I tried for several years to get pregnant, so when we finally did, we wanted everything to be perfect. While I was not familiar with doulas prior to meeting Meliea, it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. Meliea devoted a lot of her time with me during my pregnancy answering questions and helping us write a birth plan. Because of her experience, she was able to help us talk through things that otherwise we would not have known about. My intention was to have a natural, non-medicated delivery, but after 12 hours of laboring with tremendous back labor, I ended up getting an epidural. Without Meliea, the back labor would have over taken me much sooner. She worked extremely hard using several different techniques to help relieve my pain. I also was not progressing very quickly in my labor and she offered several solutions to get things kick started. Were it not for Meliea's training and experience, my labor and delivery would have been very disappointing. Instead, I had one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. |

It would not be an exaggeration to say that having Meliea Holbrook as my
doula changed my life. After the traumatic birth of my first child, I began my
second pregnancy dreading the birth process. When I met with Meliea the first
time, I was unsure of what to expect or what to say and was relieved to find
conversation was easy and comfortable. She immediately picked up on my
biggest concerns and offered solutions right off the bat. She also very quickly
figured out what words to say to comfort and encourage me the most. During
the birth itself, I could not have been more grateful to have her there. It went
as perfectly as I had imagined it. I know the role of a doula is not to make
things go perfectly, but to support the mother through whatever comes and
that is exactly the role she played. The birth of my son was one of the most
healing and redeeming things that has ever happened to me and I can truly
attribute that to Meliea. Her constant encouragement, ideas, depth of
knowledge and amazingly gentle spirit sustained me my entire pregnancy and
birth. I can't thank her enough and wouldn't hesistate to use her again!
